As for stock footage, well I shoot lots of stuff but every now and again I need a shot I cant get, like niagra falls, or a desert, or an explosion... well I just swipe it out of a big bucks film. Easy. Course I cant use that film commercially then but it is only stuff for my own amusement where I do that.

Stock footage is good when you can't get something. Like muzzle flashes from a real gun. I don't have a way where I can shoot a real gun much less do it in front of a black screen. So certain things are good and certain things are bad. But yah most of the sites shouldn't charge money. Your just selling stuff thats not yours. Other people film it. Why charge. Its a sick and twisted game.
