Default Television work

Hi, Totally new here and to be honest just looking for places to post our Advert. I hope this is appropriate to put on here.
Our contact details are at the bottom if there is a problem or anyone wants to get in touch.
Thankyou.

Video Camera Men Work Offered

Production company looking for 5 camera men for upcoming long running television series.
You will need your own broadcast quality equipment or be able to beg / borrow or steal some ( o’k maybe not steal!!) for working interview/casting.

Amateurs welcome also so this could be your chance to get into the business if good enough. We all started somewhere and this is your chance to show what you can do.
We are NOT interested in previous showreels etc as suitable applications. We want to meet you and see how you work and then decide. See if you can work as part of the team etc. Basically we are offering a great opportunity and need to know we are getting the right people.

Once we have decided who has the work we will of course be able to offer equipment to those who do not have their own. Having your own just gives you a slight advantage in first instance.

The work initially will be for 11 week run with view to many more series in the future.

We offer VERY good rates of pay to successful applicants.

This is NOT for porn but is within the glamour industry. We are producing for daytime mainstream T.V with view to being able to move timeslots to whenever and wherever such is the nature of what we are doing.

Interview for applicants will involve a working scenario and you will of course be shown the finished pilot and be told EXACTLY what is required of you before starting and then left to do what you do best.

Sound and lighting will be down to you on what you are filming on the day also. If this is not your strong point then again don’t worry as help we be on hand if needed and when it comes to production we will have sound and lighting people. We are simply looking at how you work and what footage you take.

Sorry we cannot go in to detail on the production itself due to copyright infringements but anyone interested in applying can do so either through email or phone.

gozphotographic@btconnect.com
01255 221132

We will NOT go into great detail over the phone due to too many timewasters. If serious about this work you will simply need to meet us and then book your slot for interview/casting day.
Please call for time and dates etc after 17th Jan as we are waiting on confirmation of the venue.
Any other questions please feel free to ask away by email or phone.

We look forward to hearing from all you genuine camera people.

For anyone tempted, please do the usual background checks before agreeing to undertake any work. A little common sense can save a lot of wasted time.

Hmm, the ad wants camera people but the description is clearly for cinematographers who can do audio as well.

I'm not convinced they know what they are after personally.

And since when does a cameraman have to bring his own camera to a proffessional shoot?

It all look s to me like, if you do this job, you'll do the work of at least four people simultaneously and have to supply your own kit to boot.

Hi Marc,

Totally with you on that which is why we ALWAYS post email address, telephone number and website.

Unfortunately with all the work we have done getting the pilot ready our website has gone to rack and ruin in that time.We used to be a photographic studios and glamour model agency and are now simply an agency and production company! Quite a change in direction since this time last year for sure.

Anyway, like i said in the post, we cannot give too much away at this time as we are awaiting confirmation from braodcasters but suffice to say what we have is potentially the biggest thing of it's genre and we need to secure crew's etc ready for the off.
Obviously we could just go and book cameramen and lighting guys etc anywhere but until we get the go ahead we simply don't need to. This is just our way of getting one step ahead ready for the work to begin.Obviously, it also gives more people a chance instead of just the bigger guys who happen to advertize more.

Thanks

People have a tendancy to stare goift horses in hte mouth, and so do I....

What I cant understand is that you are offering big money yet you want to hire people with little or no expirience? You also want these people to do lighting and sound ? Odd....

I suspect using non pro people is somehow important to the project in some way.

Mind you the glamour bit sounds interesting for sure, glamour but not porn?

I'd be hiring a professional company then. I'm sure Big Brother didn't seek out amateurs as crew.

Isn't there enough to go around?
Also, I've NEVER heard this before

Every production company I've ever come across want to see examples of my previous work. Only natural too really. They don't want to finish a days shoot only to discover they've hired a muppet and the footage is kak.
And my last major concern is this

You clearly do. If the secret project is as hot as you claim, you should be seeking out the very best money can buy. Why wouldn't you?.
Can you address these points please?

Oh Dear, we have obviously come to the wrong forum as everyone knows it all and don't want the work.

When you see the name Glamour and Entertainment Ltd on your screens as the producers of a program please remember this thread. We will that's for sure.

We will now answer your questions before leaving you alone as we have obviously bothered some of you.

Zasker.... Yes using semi pro people is important to our project. We ourselves have worked with many so called amateurs in the photography business and in all truth they are more professional than most of the pro's we worked with and certainly not as pretentious. We were kind of hoping it would be the same in the video industry thus giving these people their chance instead of being put down all the time by pro's who are shit scared of their own asses and losing work to them. (sorry for the language but these things get my goat BIG time) We all start somewhere and picking holes in peoples post on the internet instead of being objective is petty and un-neccessary.

Turn Media... I will answer your critics 1 at a time, and again leave you alone as we obviously hit a raw nerve somewhere.

1...Why should we hire professional companies when there is no need and we can give the small guys a chance?? You do not know what is required on this work so until you do, which can be done by asking as per our post, please don't leave these types of comments.Endomol started somewhere before using big crews did they not????

2.. Sound and lighting on camera which a cameraman in my view should be able to do if he is going to shoot good footage. If he cannot see whether the shot is good or not then what use is he as a cameraman if the lights go or sound is no good in camera??

3... A cameraman with his own equipment will be totally adverse with how to operate EVERYTHING on it so why not?? Why give a guy a piece of equipment he is not used to when you don't have to?? Like i said in post, WHEN we get the right people for OUR work we will provide equipment that they will be able to use all the time thus being conversant with it all.

4... We have no wish to see peoples "showreels" as they will NOT show us how they work or the real footage they shot to get them. I could show you a showreel that a friend done and claim it to be mine could i not?? You then hire me and until i mess up you will pay me top doller to work for you?? I think not. What i said was, we want to see exactly what you are made of and how you work in situations etc etc as we want the best and want people to work OUR way and not how they want to. This will be a VERY long contract of work and we want what WE want as we are paying for it.

5.. Once again, NO WE DON'T. Your "BEST" money can buy is probably miles away from OUR best money can buy.

Good day.
I have saved this thread as a file and will refer back in time to come.

Just as you were free to post your original message, Turn Media, Zaskar et al were free to reply with their thoughts. I could equally suggest their comments hit a raw nerve with you... Or I could delete the entire thread.

Hi, Totally new here and to be honest just looking for places to post our Advert.
The above-mentioned members have spent many hours of their spare time helping others on this forum. They're not just looking for places to place their advert. If you post on a forum with the sole intention of a freebie plug, you're unlikely to warm to the rest of the community that are here to help.

In short, this is a forum. This thread is a discussion and people are putting accross their thoughts. Nothing sinister, no personal vendetta, just good old debate.
