There are several sites that offers free footage, however this guys seems to have a unique idea. I don't know if this idea of his will work, but you know, there are certain business that you don't know (even if you have a business plans projection) if it would work or not. Some times the only way is trying.
As for his expenses, it should be low at the moment, as he does not need a dedicated server... a shared hosting is doing it for him.
Now, nothing is totally free in this world, so I understand the skepticism. I can see only three scenarios: 1- The guy is legit and it has the registration to make it look more professional, 2- The clips are free but he also wants to build a client email list (not a bad trade as you can virtually create free emails anywhere) or 3- The guys is building a list to sell to spammers or who knows, other stock houses.
I don't think it is the last option as their interface feels someone has put some work on it (yes even considering there are tons of premade web templates).
Deestock, you are facing a lot of challenges, but if you put hard work on it, you will make, at least gain experience which will lead to better business ideas.
3 suggestions: 1- Make your whois info private... I just check it and I can see your whole info details. 2- If you are serious about the business, acquire the other domains that are available, at least the .net, .info, and .tv 3- Posting on this sites have give you better insight than any of your friends... Believe me, the comments you have read here is nothing compared with what you will face with a business...
And for those who want free clips, just register with one of those "fake" emails you have just for garbage and download these free clips!!!
