I am new this forum and maybe I post this on wrong place.
Few friends of my try to make a good Vlog site where they collect videos from everywhere on the net.
So we are very interested everybodys opinion about this http://best-videos.net site.
Plese help us with your coments to make it better for the comunity.

do you think this site is violating copyright laws?
They only link to the videos, like a phonebook, not holding on they server the data.

Copyright material will, sooner or later, be deleted from google videos. All your videos are hosted by Google and you're reliant on them continuing to do so. Dude, I'm just trying to be realistic - you're not the first guy to come here posting a video gallery site with google ads thinking they're setting the world alight.

Interesting to note that YouTube has done a deal of sorts with a few companies to keep them off their backs in the copyright dept. I believe it goes along the lines of YouTube paying a general sort of license fee to Sony etc. It seems that the media giants have woken up to the fact they need to embrace the way people use their music or imagery rather than fight it. Having said that, YouTube is a major player, and now it's been acquired by Google it has corporate power to do deals. I think the minor players who missed the boat (and that's 99% of these video sharing sites) will get their asses sued off if they're not very careful.
And that's aside from the point that the number of people hoping to make a million quid on the back of other peoples talent (or otherwise as is normally the case) has exploded.
For something like this to be successful, it needs to have something extra, different or be entirely new from all the others.

General concensus appears to be that Google's aquisition will open the floodgates for legal proceedings. Now there's actually a value to be had, there's an incentive to go down the legal route...
