The applicable language is in the competition rules, but the simple answer is:
Yes, you retain rights to your images (and we to the music). By entering, you do grant us permission to display your film and pass it on (i.e.put it on our website, or show it on TV, i.e. within a report on the contest, or through other display opportunities.)

- Film departments of three colleges in the US have decided to make the Film2Music Competition part of their teaching curriculum this fall. Two more, including CalArts, have expressed interest to do the same.
