Default Allocation unit size question

I'm reformatting my capture drive and was wondering if I should change the default unit allocation size? Is this one of those cases where bigger is better or should I set it at the smallest unit size 512 bytes? Thanks.

Default

Bigger in this case is not better, leave this set at the default or at what the HDD manufacturer specifies. Larger allocation units = more wasted space + fragmentation.
