Silly question, but does it matter as to the quality of camera you use to capture footage to your HDD?
I have a XM1 and a cheap panasonic thing and use the panasonic thing to rewind and export tapes to my

So long as you dont get dropouts on capture I would say it doesnt matter what you use.
I often capture of a cheap old camera nad it seems to wk fine.

there are no dropouts, this camera is a little trojan!
So, because it is all filmed in digital on a 3CCD camera, that's what goes onto the tape, then the Panasonic can transmit the same images as captured on the XM1?
I just want to make sure, as I have an important project coming up, and want to make sure I am not going to lose much quality using this approach.
Many thanks

I should think as the tape is all digital and it is a digital transfer it will be fine. I am no expert but I havent noticed a problem.
