So... I'm working on the rest! and that's where you come in. I'm looking at the matrox card on newegg since it comes with premiere pro, which I've been using a downloaded copy of thus far (1-month trials / trial versions aren't my thing, but I'll be sure to buy a license prior to actually burning anything or putting a video on the web. I may be a cheater, but I'm not a thief nor am I stupid. :p)

1) I've been eyeing this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814106156 ... any feedback on it? Heard good or bad things about it?

2) I believe I'll still need a videocard even if I get that Matrox card, which I'll snoop around for, but suggestions are welcome... but I was wondering about a soundcard. The Matrox card talks about how it can do sound editing... or so it seems that way... I'm not sure. At any rate, will I need a soundcard or is the onboard (motherboard) sound good enough (since the Matrox card will maybe handle the editing)? Will I need a "capture card" or is the Matrox able to do all of that (E.G. capture from my cable TV)?

3) Also, I'm thinking about getting the Sony FX1 -- will I have any problems with that? You can author a dvd that will play in standalones in 30 FPS without any problems, right? The only thing that I won't be able to do is show the film in a movie theater?

Dude, I hate to break it to you but so far none of the new x2 mother boards for the AMDs are compatible with the Matrox capture card. I just ordered all my stuff. read my post down a little ways. I called matrox and they talked to me about it and told me an Intel dual core chipset that would work. I suggest you do the same. they said on the Nvidia4 chipset the system becomes very unstable witht he matrox card.

This all kinda buggs me because the benchmarks on the low end AMD x2 3800+ is way over even that of the 840 Pintium D. but alas. that is what we face if you want to use the matrox card.

PS Get your Matrox card off ebay. Got mine for $550 after shipping. against the newegg price of $1049 before shipping.
