He's just talking about motherboards with 2 sockets. I forget what's different about them. Can't remember for the life of me. I'd say their own memory controllers, but AMD dual-core chips already have dual memory controllers. I do know that they have a slight performance improvement over dualcores though. Couldn't tell you why offhand... same amount of memory controllers, cache, and the same north/south bridges.
