Default Desperately need a new video card

There are just so many choices, I was hoping to get some advice here, from those that would know better than I would. My current card is an OLD 3DFx Banshee w/16mb ram.

The rest of my system consists of an Asus P4C800E Deluxe MB, 1 GB ram, P4 2.8 GHZ (Overclocked and running fine at 3.08 GHZ). Samsung SyncMaster 710N LCS monitor, 3-80 Gig WD drives and 1-200 Gig WD SATA drive, all in an Antec Sonata case

I recenty bought Pinnacle Studio 9, so I'll more than likely stick with that, at least for a while. My CD/DVD burners are an External Plextor PX-708-UF and internal HP dvd640i. I also am using a Canopus ADVC-100, since my video is being captured from an older (non DV) camcorder. A Sony TRV-65

I have been having crashes while trying to edit a 60 min video in Studio 9, and I'm pretty sure my antique video card is to blame. I'd like to keep the cost of a new card under $250, but looking on places like newegg.com, there are just so many choices. Any helps/tips would be greatly appreciated

Bill

I don't think your problem involves the graphics card, as it's not used at all for video editing applications, (as far as I know), and the rest of your system should happily deal with any length video project in Studio 9.

I'd ask about the problem your experiencing in the Pinnacle part of the forum, someone else might be able to shed some light if it's a common problem.

do you have the latest updates?
