I am new to this forum, however I've been reading many reviews as of late. I am cureently thinking about buying some barebone parts to build my own PC for Video Editing. I don't think it's necessary for editing RAPTOR HDs. It's true that video editing request large amounts of data and relatively speedy driver, but RAPTOR ones are extremely fast on seeking random data - for editing you need speed for continuous large files, so I think you'll be all right if you take a SATA 8MB 7200 Seagate drive (for example)

For the rest, in my opinion you decided for buying a good equipment. I wish you could make awesome productions.
