I have a Macbook Pro, 2.6GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory installed.
I also have the CS3 suite with Premier Pro and After Effects which I haven't used since purchasing it.
I have a Canon XL-1s camera which can't have done more than 10 hours since it was bought new.
I'm looking for something a little more 'family friendly' and had thought that the Canon HF-200 was a good option.
All the post I can find about this camera seem to be from around 2009 and at that time people were saying that the file format from the cards isn't acceptable to CS3, plus everyone talks about having a quad core system.
Is this still the case?
Will I still have file compatibility issues?
Is my machine just not up to the job for editing?
Some other people, around the same time, said to go for the Canon HV-30, which is tape not card. Would this still be the best option?
(I'm going to post a similar question in the Camera section for advice on the camera so sorry if the posts cross over - I know some forums hate things like that!)
