so even though the graphic card has a built on chip for Video play back.

you guys dont think its worth it? is this because my processor is powerfull enough to do the job anyway?

You'll then (I beleive) be sharing RAM with the video card. You need as much RAM as you can get, so this isn't the way to go.

Complience:

I am by no means an expert in comparison to the rest of those on this board but I can share this from personal experience as I am an amateur video junkie and loving it.

1) Get as much ram as you can for the dollar. I am very pleased I got 1 gig to start.
2) Definitely, definitely, definitely increase to two hard drives as mentioned above. The prices these days for the size drives that they are offering are outstanding and well worth it. What I am doing now is using the small drive as my main drive to store the program files etc... and then the second drive as my dedicated capture and video drive. The third drive I have set up to store footage that I want to keep as backup.

As you can see from my specs, I have an Asus motherboard and NVIDIA card and love them.

Wish you well and take your time and SHOP, SHOP, SHOP for the best prices. You will be amazed at what is out there.
