Heh, Don't worry about the thread..

Well after paying for the laptop I've read SO many bad reviews about Tiny. Now I'm seriously expecting the Laptop to fall to bits when (if) I receive it. Has anyone had an experience with Tiny before? If so please share some good comments. I've heard they use such cheap quality products that just break.. Is this the case? I hope not!

I've never bought a prebuilt machine, but tiny would be the last place i looked, right enough.

Nah. There are thousands of people out there that are more than happy with what they've bought from the likes of Tiny.

It's a fact of life that the more units you sell, the more RMA's there'll be. Tiny's reputation has also changed recently (from reading magazine articles in recent months), and laptops are a very different beast to desktops.

I honestly wouldn't bother worrying about what you've bought. I've heard "horror" stories about very single retailer and manufacturer in the PC industry over the years. And it's "fashionable" to diss the likes of Tiny at the moment.

Enjoy the laptop when it comes.

... and my final comment. It's not the quality of the parts per se (yes, I know not all hdd's are equal, but a processor is the same quality full stop), but the after sales where they're saving money.

But then someone like you Dom won't need that high a level of after sales support.

here here. The first PC I owned was from Tiny. An early Windows95 machine. Proved excellent. I wouldn't worry.

Some people just like the flexibility of a level of customisation you just won't get over the counter so to speak that's all.

I drive a Ford. It gets me to work. I'd like a Ferrari but it won't get me there any 'better'. A bit quicker maybe but nothing wrong with my Mondeo. Same with PCs. It'll be just fine.

See, if Millsy's first PC was from there, they've been around for AGES - and that's worth something in itself (with so many PC builders folding at the mo).

absolutely true. Hardware's hardware. Had you checked any reviews of the laptop before buying?

Laptop performance can vary greatly, even with similar specs, and different manufacturers' machines can have a range of battery lives.

Ah thanks, I was thinking the same about after-sales Marc. Millsy your post was really reassuring too, thanks.

Havent found any reviews at all on this Laptop mrlipring, not one. Just reviews about Tiny in general, so thats an even wider range of people and products.

I'm going to try and cancel my order for the Tiny, and go with this one:

Any thoughts? OR does anyone know of a better deal elsewhere?
