Alienware do good systems, but they're very expensive.
Looks like a good spec, apart from the Hard Drive. If you're going to put your existing 200GB i nthere though, that should be ok.

The real tech-heads (read as "geeks") would recommend you build your own system...
I'm not really familiar with any other companies outside the UK though TBH. Perhaps some of the videoforum regulars near you would like to help out?

it'd definitely be a good system, but alienware systems are overpriced, and you WILL need more disc space.

well can you recommend any other system builders? I have priced alienware against dell and ibuypower.com and they always come through as the most bang for the buck.
I appreciate any recommendations! Thanks guys!

I know that loads of US based hardware enthusiasts buy their components from www.newegg.com, but as for whether their PC systems are any good, I don't know.... http://www.newegg.com/app/manufact.a...alog=10&DEPA=0 |

I'm getting an Alienware Aurora 5500 in the next weeK or so and will mainly be using it for video editing, animation etc. After I get it and try it out I'll post about it on here. |

NEWEGG is awesome for parts. I purchased probably 40% of my self built computer from them and was very pleased with service and value.
From what I have read in mags and things Alenware make an excellent system but mainly market the Gamers. I may be wrong but again everything that I have seen from them gears that way.
When I started shoping around for what I wanted I ended up deciding at risk to build my own. (Helps when you have some friends who are computer geeks that can help when needed) I was very pleased with my decisions and walked away with at the time a top of the line system at bargain prices. Take your time to piece what you want and SHOP, SHOP, SHOP.
Wish you well.
