Default will this edit AVCHD in vegas or similar?

I have gleaned from this forum I need dual core processor to edit or even play my avchd footage... What do you guys think of this spec?
Its £449 pc world. Would it work and what bit needs uprating?

Benefit Processor Type Intel. Core 2 Duo E7300
Clock-Speed 2.66GHz
Front Side BUS 1066MHz
Cache 3 MB
Operating-System Windows Vista. Business
RAM Memory 3072 MB
Hard Disk Capacity 320 GB
Optical Drive 1 Dual Layer DVD Rewriter
Graphics Description NVIDIA. GeForce 7050
Media Card Reader 8-In-1

THanks
Alex

Also I'm totally confused is a quad core 2.33 mghz better than dual core 2.66mghz?

Also am I barking up the wrong tree altogether

My opinion? PC world would go up in my opinion if they let you try out a trial version of vegas and a sample AVCHD file on a demonstration model.

The computer will feal faster with a higher clock speed but it will encode much faster with a quad core.

Answer your question?

Thats nice to hear!

Sometimes we get users posing on here and getting a thread with something stupid like 15 post all suggesting help and they never reply back, nice to know someone's at home lol
