Default I need some guidance

I have a P3 , 550mhz, 2 x HDD 120giggs and a 80gigg.

When I use media studio pro and I move the timeline, my sound becomes very jerky and choppy. I want to be able to move the timeline and hear and see if what I have just added is ok or if i have to re-edit slightly.

It appears I think that my pc is not able to proccess the info quick enough, so I may need a bigger processor is this correct. When I use pinnacle studio 8 I dont get this problem.

Generally speaking, the more sophistacted the application, the greater the minimum specs... so it could well be time for an upgrade.
