New Computer I am actually preparing a new computer for editing. The goal is to edit footage from Sony PD170 (DV) and potentially some HDV from a friend. Considering that I live in Turkey and access to all parts is hardly available I designed the following: Asus P5E3 INTEL X38 (or P5Q3 Deluxe) Intel Q9550 QUAD CORE 2,83Ghz 2 X CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Graphic card Asus HD3870 512MB 256BIT GDDR4 WD 250 Go16MB SATA2 7200RPM for Windows XP pro WD 750GB 16MB SATA2 7200RPM for Premiere pro 2 X 750GB 16MB SATA2 7200RPM for capture Thermatalk VA7000BWA SHARK ALUMINYUM FULL TOWER 650 WATT TOUGHPOWER QFAN I have several questions. -What do you think about the all set? Idon’t intend to play with this computer only edit plus some Internet and openOffice work. -Is it interesting to have 3 sets of hard drive (1 for Windows, 1 for Première, 1 for capture). -In order to boost the PC where should I set a Raid 0 (C:/, D:/ or E:/)? -As I want for the moment to keep using my old Premiere Pro 7.0 and my Windows XP pro (My old desktop just crashed) Is it possible to use 4Go of ram? Thanks for the future answers. |
