Help to Chose Video Editing System

Dear All,
I'm a DeskTop Video Editor. I'm using Computer System along with Matrox RT2500 capture card with Matrox G450 Graphics Card. Now I would like to buy another DeskTop Video Editing System. In This case can I select the following one. But can I work with it without capture card?

As long as it has a Firewire socket then you are set up. It will certainly do standard definition video, just use one of the hard disks for the OS and other apps and capture your video onto the second hard disk.

Can I use HDD as like the following?

1 X 160MB for OS and other Applications Software
1 X 500MB for Captured Raw Video
1 X 250MB for Rendered Video

Which OS - WinXP or Vista will be perfect?

1 X 250MB for Rendered Video - You can store your finished videos on here but most users keep all there videos files together as it makes file management much easier. Also if you copy files onto a portable hard disk you may forget one or two of them and the video may not work on another computer. As long as you keep the OS and other apps on one hard disk then capture all your video to a second disk.

I would use Win XP.

Could u pls reconfirm that for video editing by the above mention configured System required no video capture card (like RT or any). Can I do real time video editing by the mentioned system? I'm very confused on this issue. I think by the on board fireware (1394) I can capture my video but I'm not sure can I do real time editing by the system or not with out any capture card.

As In2Bangladesh I am building a new computer and as him I felt I should have 3 sets of hard drive. Long ago it was suggested to have Premiere in a different drive than windows.
So I thought I would have
1 HD for windows and other program
1 HD for Première and rendered video
2 HD on Raid 5 for capture
If we forget file management Nikosony writes about; would the system be faster like that?
This would be on an Asus P5Q3 Deluxe & Intel Q9550 QUAD CORE 2,83Ghz with 4Go of ram.
