Default Setting Up PC w/ Two Hard Drives

Just built a pc designated solely for video editing. I have two hard drives as desired for better performance. I installed Windows 2000 on my 80 Gig drive. Do I install video editing/capture software on drive w/ operating system but designate capture folder on 250 Gig drive or do I install video edit. software on 250 Gig drive and capture video on same drive? Not clear on exactly how you want dual drive set up for maximum performance.[/b]

One drive (the boot drive) for the OS and software installations, one drive captured and rendered footage.

... but you'll be much better off with Windows XP.
