Default Calibrating a TV with colour bars

I've got Avid set up on my computer and a TV set up as a second monitor, but I am just about to start grading the film I am working on. I've got colour bars on the timeline, but I don't know how to use them to get the brightness, colour, and contrast right on the TV, any ideas?
