Default Quadro or SLI Graphics Setup Need Help

Hullo everybody have a few questions I hope somebody can help me out with. I am building a editing computer for a student that is currently in school learning graphic design. Right now the basic computer stands at:

2.6 Ghz Quad-Core Intel QX6700
ASUS P5N32-E SLI8 GB 800 mhz DDR2
2 150 GB 10,000 SATA HD
3 500 GB 7200 SATA HD
2 Geforce 8800 GTX SLI

I can not find any real good information if it would be better to run a $1100 Geforce Quadro video card or to run 2 8800 SLI. If anybody has any other information they could input that would be great. Looking at a budget around $4500.

Thanks

It depends on what you want to use your system for.

Normal Video editing applications rarely use the graphics card open gl engine. therefore you would waste money if thats the intended use, however:

If you are doing 3d work or work in say after effects then a good gfx card would come i handy.

You best bet is to figure out what applications you will be using and wether or not those appz use the gfx card for rendering. If they do they will have recemmendations.
