Question Best Video Editing Pc_ Help!

Hi ,
I am new to video editing, infact I have never done it before at all. Bottom line is- I am after a new PC for video editing, photo editing ( I use Photoshop) DTP ( I usually use Quark) and also Web design - new to this too currently using Dreamweaver. I no nothing much about the hardware of PCs - So my question is
Can anyone help me get the right Pc for my needs. Obviously I dont want to overspec- but then again certainly not under spec.
I feel I need
2x 250 g hds
2 gb ram
dual core.
And I also would like a 19" or bigger monitor.
Can anyone please give me a complete list of the items I need for my new PC .
Also point me in the right direction the best place to buy this hardware from. I have been in to many local Pc shops but they all seem to advise me diffrentley on what I need. I have been wanting this PC for months now - but just dont want to make any mistakes so as much help as possible would be appreicated.
My budget is approx 900
Thanks
Alan

If you are going to do lots of video editing then get the fastest and fattest you can afford.

What you mention looks fine. Considor larger drives maybe.
