Default Do I Need a Graphics Card??

Im going to be getting a Laptop soon and want to run programs which edit video footage and possibly programs like photoshop etc would i need a seperate graphics card for that or should it be fine without one? btw im going for a macbook (2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive) unless any of you have other ideas?? (ps im a student so im not looking to spend more than £1000 really)

i would say no if you are just doing video editing... but if you are using after effects i think you may find a graphics card nice to have.

im pretty sure the mac book would be a good buy ... altho please dont take my word for it, i would get intouch with apple.... they are very helpfull

Koma, I've never used affter effects but would like to, is a graphics card used with AE?

AE7 very much uses the graphics card GPU as does some other 'effects' s/w I use.

Not essential I don't think, but it helps if it's there

i have run after effects on a 64mb card but i would advise you get a more advanced GFX card as it will speed everything up
