Default PC video editing or hire equipment?

I have a film trilogy on DVD which I would like to make a compilation of, just for my own use (so no copyright infingement or anything). I was wondering if it is possible to hire some kind of machine so I can take everything I want out of the three DVDs and put them onto another DVD, with my DVD recorder if neccesary. It's either that or getting whatever I need for my PC (2.93GHz, 512 MB RAM), but seeing as it's just for a one-off, it could be easier to hire if it's possible. Thanks.
