Erm, more details please - '' I bought gigabyte intel 945 motherboard, all i want is a pro editing pc,'' doesnt mean anythign !

what model number is the mother board ?
do you have a budget ?

dont expect too much, because at the moment 945 is down with the ark, and you should have really looked at a 965 or 975 which can accept the new Conroe chips ( core 2 duo )

for editing, CPU and RAM is where its all at. but a decent motherboard can help you get every last drop of powerr out of it if your planning on overclocking !

more info please
Rick

What RBCustoms said x2.

edit: just checked the original post date... I guess it's too late to get your money back on the MB.

Short story: anyone talking about a pro machine should be thinking of storage space in terms of TB.

Not if you are handling in a pro manner, 4 drives on the system for the content that your editing, the rest should be off system for safety reasons.

check the gigabyte website for a possible Bios upgrade so the board will except Core2 Duo.

If this is possible and you are in anyway unsure about flashing the bios take it to a local PC shop and ask if they will do it.
