Hey, I'm new to this forum. I'm Mike, I'm 16 yr old virgin (lol, I don't mind sharing it XD). I'm a Junior in high-school, and I live in New Jersey.

I love playing video games, making videos for YouTube. I'm into gaming, designing levels in video games with the stage editor, and videography.

I have a Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, GBA (I'm a big Nintendo fan, hence my name). My 2 favorite games r Super Smash Brothers Brawl adn Mario Kart Wii, both for the Nintendo Wii. I'm good at both games.

I'm a bit computer and videography savvy. I'm ok with file types (like .mov, .mp4, etc.), video file types, editing vids, stuff like that. I know how to hook up my camcorder to record right off the screen to the LCD.

I have an Aiptek A-HD+ 1080p SD Card/Hard Drive Hi-Definition camcorder. I originally had a Vado pocket camcorder that I got for my birthday, but it sucked, so I wanted a new one, and I had my mom order this $150 Aiptek cacmorder for me. It's a good camcorder for its price.

I use Windows XP, and Windows Movie Maker. I've been making videos for YouTube for a bit over a year now. (I have about 115 YouTube videos, all of them r on random stuff like my video games or pets)

Just found this site and wondered, why havn't I joined already? I'm a second year BA Digital Film Production student at the University of Gloucestershire, here to suck up all the wisdom like a crusty dry sponge!
I'm into all aspects of filmmaking, either for the sheer spotaneous fun, or for the well-planned comp-entering life-changing-documentary-making. I suppose you'd say Post-production is my thing, the oddly natural and cathartic feeling of editing on your own for hours and hours that I'm sure many of you are familiar with is what I crave.
Hopefully this site will be an invaluable resource for me, and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to give advice or solve a problem or two.
See you on the forums, RGB.

HI all

I'm Steve I've joined the site because I need a bit of help.
I was quite happy making silly little video from my camcorder and adding photo's and windows movies maker was great.
Then can the day when I tried down the camcorder to my motorcycle for some trackday footage at Cadwell park!
Just tried it down to hard and and damaged the tape thing may look in to getting It fixed at some point.
So I went out about 2 months ago and bought a JVC Everio 30GB HDD (GZ-MG334, Tried Recording a family day out trip and the Camcorder went up the wall got sent back and now it seems great.
Just now I find that windows moive maker can't read the files ? not sure why as window media player can!

So is their away of getting windows movie maker their just MPEG files.
I run windows XP not ready to make the jump to vista this bring me to another problem.

My desktop PC want run DVD MPEG even why I try powerDVD programs just boot out and send error reports or the thing just locks up
May just wait in till money allows me to restart and go to vista just not looking forward to the move.
There again you may know why this is happening and how to fix it.

Well I'll wait for someone to reply I just hope i made some sence of my problems.
I don't work in IT or have to work with PC's I'm just a home users who don't know a lot about them.
I just spray big planes at british airways.

Hi all, I'm a professional photographer from Skegness, Lincolnshire, I mostly cover wedding photography and some wedding videography, this means that when I cover a wedding I mostly take still photographs but also shoot some video footage.

Hi. I'm from Petereborough, Ontario. Just joined - looks like a great site!

I've been into video editing almost twenty years. I started out when the best you could do was hook up your VHS camcorder to a VCR and create your videos that way - no video FX at all and very time consuming. I remember being thrilled when they came out with a VCR I could use for slow motion and freeze frames! Never imagined being able to edit and create digital videos on a computer.

For all you newbies, I hope you truly appreciate the technology that you have access to!!

I got into digital editing when desktop computers started becoming more affordable. My first was a 286 clone at a price of about $3500 (Canadian) with 1 MB of memory. Actually, come to think of it, you couldn't video edit with that. I don't think I got into the digital editing until I had a Pentium I. Now I use an AMD Athalon 64 Dual Core 4800+ 2.3 Ghz!! To tell you the truth, editing home videos never really got to be that much fun until the more advanced compression codecs.

After all these years, I consider myself Intermediate, which is why I visit forums like this one - to learn!
