Yes, that was a big disappointment for the GB team after working so hard.

I watched it with 3500+ people with big screens and one heck of a PA erected in this solid structure of a marquee, The atmosphere was incredible! We cheered, we sang, we even booed when the TV connection stuttered on our end for 5 seconds.
I bet it was good, I was wishing I was there when everyone was singing along.

I take your point about the Elbow number, but "Hey Jude" is a sing along for young and old alike. You only need to know the word "na"
Remember the Hagar the Horrible/Lucky Eddie advert for Skol lager, now that would have been a closing song to sing along to.

    David.

The biggest disappointment for me, though, was when I looked at the footage I shot of it in Walton-on-Thames and later in Esher.

I really should give up tryng to shoot things that move faster than 85 year old torch-bearers!

I was wondering if you was there filming. I bet it was great to see the GB team leading the peloton, trying to chase down the leading group.

You know how it is when you're filming. You don't actually see anything
Had a much better day filming the lasses today.

"Slower, wetter, Silver" - The GB version of the Olympic motto!

I thought our ladies were fantastic. Great team effort. And credit too to Voss. She must have been under a lot of pressure to deliver and her team did well to ensure that she ended up against only one other sprinter. Credit also to Olga Zabelinskaya whom I understand is really a Time Trial specialist.

I watched it from start to finish. Well 30 mins in. It was so interesting to see the Dutch team and UK team tactics and it paid off for both of them. I hope your camera stayed dry.

Danny Boyle created a true spectacle. As he said, this is for everyone - much like the inventor of the world wide web he introduced, I think it ticked most of the boxes. Agree with the McCartney comment though. He wasn't needed lol!

It's the hot topic in work today. Even the hardened cynics are struggling to fault it.
