And you know - they don' even pay road tax those swiney road closing bicycle bods.
Anywayyy. Thought it was quite good - put me in mind of those old films that just document what went on years ago. Nice build up, (yes, a clever opening), well paced, good to catch the bobby egging folk on, and loved the closing shot too. I'd hire you. ha!!
Jib operators get it right up there....
Hire yourself a camera crane or Glidecam for your shoot from £450 per day...
I wish I could say I'd had the foresight to plan it. I'd assumed I'd be closing with shots of the support vehicles receding (as per the ending of the first section) as I wasn't in a position where I could pan around and get a clear following shot of the cyclists. However, everyone assumed it had finished and I was meandering around looking for the odd cutaway, when suddenly we were aware of this group of four stragglers. As they were upon us I could only set to record a following shot and it was a really lucky coincidence that it was on a long straight followed by a turn into oblivion. I just set it and left it, praying to Dawkins that no-one would cross the road until they were out of view. There's a bit of wobble on the shot - I was stupidly holding the handle, but I'm glad I had the presence of mind not to try to follow them with the camera.
And I'm yours to hire whenever you like!
