I just purchased a hauppauge PVR-250 card and tried to make my first DVD. I wasnt impressed with the quality but it probably was my fault. I used the Win TV2000 to capture the video and used Unlead DVD movie factory to create the dvd. Is there a better way to capture the video and make a higher quality dvd, I will take any suggestions please, maybe better software. Thanks

Thats a USB capture isn't it? If so then you will get much better quality capturing via Firewire. Thereafter its a case of checking the settings on Movie Factory. Best settings are at 8000Kb per second. this will give you about an hour on a single DVD.

No, its not usb. Win2000tv is the program to actually watch TV, but I used it and created a channel to play the camecorder and hooked up the camcorder via the rca input/outputs on the TV card and camecorder.

Ahh! If you want to produce quality DVDs then the only way to go is to capture using firewire. I am afraid that the composite route will nearly always result in degraded quality. (Incidentally USB isn't really the answer either).

So invest in an OHCI comliant firewire card, and the world becomes your oyster.
