Default adding another harddisk to my raid array, but....

I am adding another harddisk to my raid 0 array (striping), but i need to know if i need the exact same specs on both disks. Right now i have a 160 gig 7200 rpm but im going buy 2 more disk, can i buy two 74 gig 1000 rpm disc??

They all need to be exactly the same. (If not, the size oif the array will be limited by the smallest drive).

Why not build an array from the two disks and have the third disc seperate?

hmm, i'm very knowledgable in computers, but never with RAID, my sony computer came with the arraw, and has a utility to set up raid or make them seperate, wondering if they are plug-n-play?
