plextor convertx px-tv402u ,is it any good

I was thinking of buying a plextor px-tv402u ,is this product any good ? has anybody had experience with it with regard to vhs to mpeg2 conversion and is the software that comes with it any good ? I want to save the mpeg2 file straight to hard drive (iomega screenplay pro 300gb) and play back through the t.v. thanx for any replies .
