Default Print directly on DVD/CD face

Been researching this for a couple of days and thought I'd run it by you guys. I'm really keen to finish the job off nicely after I've burned a DVD and want to buy a printer that prints directly on to the DVD/CD face. It seems that Epson are the only ones that cater for this at a reasonable budget. You can pay £60 for a printer that does decent photos and accommodates DVDs etc. My question is this. Has anyone had any experience of this and any recommendations to make? Anything I should be wary of. I've searched on the forum and can't see any references to it.

Thanks

JT

That'll be the "comprehensive review relating to my question that was staring me in the face" then  Funnily enough the R200 is the one I've landed on as a potential buy. Thanks for the lightning fast reply Marc.

Before you plunge for an epson, have a look at the Canon pixma range. Personally, after owning two different Epson printers, I got fed up with the fiddliness and general unreliability of them. I'm also a computer engineer, which means I occasionally repair printers, and Epson printers are horribly hard and expensive to service.

I've got a Canon Pixma ip3000 which is a lovely, lovely printer. Seperate colour cartridges, printing direct on to CD/DVD, automatic duplex (double sided) printing, nice and fast, nice and sharp, also got 2 seperate trays, so you can have one for paper and one for photos.

No, I don't work for Canon

I know Marc owns one with no problems, but I feel like I have to do my duty as a twice ex-epson owner, and a printer repair person.

Get a Canon.

Whatever brand you go for, do buy a direct to disc printer though. They look so much better than stick on labels.

Goes without saying really

That reminds me though - i really must get some spray for the discs I've done to make them look a bit more professional.
