Default Capturing Hi8 Tapes

I want to convert all of my old Hi8 tapes to digital (computer), but I am having trouble deciding which device to use. My current camcorder does not have S-Video out, so I was thinking that a Sony Digital8 camcorder would provide the best quality. I have also heard that the Osprey 210 and Canopus ADVC110 are good choices, but I fear that I will use quality with these because I can't use the S-Video inputs (I have to use the composites.). Does anyone have any suggestions?
