Default Getting started

I'd like to know what hardware I will need to set up a basic video editing suite. So far I have the following:
  • Sony mini DV camcorder
Laptop running windows XP with free USB 2.0 plugs (no firewire, but could get firewire PCI card.
    Jessops wide lens

So far I think I need:
  • External hard drive (USB 2.0)
    DVD RW
    Tripod
    Some decent softwere
    A mic

Am I missing anything from these lists?

Thanks,
Jim

yep, that should be fairly comfy. you'll want more space for storing stuff, but with 30GB you should be able to edit an hour or so at a time, with room to spare for temporary stuff.
