I did a lot of tweaking with my old win98 system last night and I managed to capture from the vcr at 640x480 with the 'old' ati card under indeo raw compression. No frame loss and not bad at all apart from 600 mb per min ! Im amazed the hard drive can handle it

All I have to do now is hook up to my other pc via ethernet and transfer the file, then hopefully be able to edit and burn to dvd

All these new fangled gadgets that dont work and in the end its a 6 year old system that comes up trumps.

Will I burn out the hard drive though ?

hehehe, you should be ok. it's an old drive that'd be dirt cheap to replace anyway, but i can't see it dying of exhaustion just yet.
