Default Haed Drive Configuration

Just got a second hard drive and linked it up on the same cable, both on cable select. What I need to know is:-
1. In the system BIOS I set up both drives for UATA 4 instesd of auto, is that ok?
2. There was an option in the BIOS for 16 or 32 bit, I selected 32 bit, is that ok?
3. There is obviously nothing on my new drive and I need to know must I install my Video editing on the new drive or should I just save my video files on there?

I am a newbie so please keep the answers simple for my peanut
