Could someone please advise what lead to use to transfer from a mini DV camera with a DV out port to a DVD recorder with a DV in port? I can't seem to find any lead that will fit both the camera and the DVD recorder. I thought it would be a simple matter of a getting a DV lead - am I mistaken?

Most DV cameras have a 4 pin firewire card. If your DVD recorder's DV IN socket is the same size as your DV Cam then a 4 pin to 4 pin DV lead is required. If your DVD Recorder's DV IN port is larger then a 4 pin to 6 pin DV cable is required.

Just do a google and you will find plenty of suppliers.
