| | Mini-DV Deck? Hi I have recently found out my cameras Firewire Input has stopped working!
As you can imagine I am extremely annoyed by this fact!
I've had a look round for "Mini DV Decks" (that just take Mini-DV tapes) as I can not at this stage justify buying a brand new Mini-DV complient camera just to capture rushes!
The only decks I can find at the moment are decks that are £1000+ and take DVCAM as well.
I am on an extremely low budget.
Any help would be greatly appreciated |

| | You'd be better off buying a cheap DV camera from ebay. Optics, of course, don't even have to work... |

| | Yep.
I am on the look out, and have been for years, for a sensibly priced dv deck - no such thing! Silly really.
The quality of the camera or busted cam will have no effect on quality.

| | The biggest problem with min-DV decks, in my opinion, is that they are considered 'pro' pieces of kit and come at 'pro' prices.
Best I;ve noticed for what youw3 ant is a Sony deck, can;t remember the code, but it is marketted almost as a 'Mini-DV Player' and has component outputs for connecting to a TV for HDV playback. No doubt somethign I;ll buy when that elusive lottery win comes round.....

pain in the ass to be fairly honest with you...
just something that does Mini-DV without all the T/C fixtures on it would be nice! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
