Thread: Help with broken Sony HandyCam

Hi there,
This is possibly not the right place to ask this question, but I don't know where else to go! I have a Sony HandyCam DCR-HC39E which was functioning perfectly until Friday, when the image on the viewing screen went all 'red'. Now there is no picture at all. I have not dropped it, got it wet or anything, and don't really know much about these things, so I was wondering if anyone here might know what was wrong, or be able to point me to a website with a forum relating to this sort of technical thing (as oppose to video-making). I have contacted Sony, but am not expecting much Joy. Thanks very much!

It sounds like an internal CCD issue im not sure though.

I know Sony has had problems in the past before with CCD errors like with the Sony VX2100 a lot had to be recalled to sort the situation out.

Best thing to do take it back to the shop and get your money back.

You can't really "fix" it yourself it sounds like a severe internal problem with the camcorder which can only really be fixed by an authorised Sony Dealer/Specialist.

I hope you kept the receipt...
