Excuse my ignorance but I really am new to this sort of thing, I hope someone out there can help.
I have a JVC mini DV Cmcorder GR-D70EK, bought a few years ago, I have tried to connect the camcorder to the computer but it does not recognise the camcorder, Windows Movie Maker just seems to ignore it.
I have also tried to install the software disc with the drivers but it appears Vista is not compatible CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP

Using a USB but I have just had a response from JVC uk, they say I need to get conncted via the DV out on the camcorder using a firewire connection to the computer, I will have to get that sorted !

Yep- firewire is the way to do it - you should use USB only for transferring still image files.
