Default Advice please

Hi all, this is my first post and i am seeking your advice, i have recently bought a secondhand sony HC22E to have a go at filming wildlife something i have never done be for, but have been involved in wildlife for over 30 years i have gone from one end of the scale to the other so bought the above to start of and make sure i like it, be for i go and spend out on maybe a Canon XM2.
My problem is that the film has what i can only describe as a feathering , or a shadow to the subject ,this has only just started to happen, has any one any thoughts to what it may be.

Do you mean you see a 'comb like' effeect on edges during movement?

If so this is perfectly normal. It;s an artefact of viewing an interlaced image on a non-interlaved device. It'll be fine when you make your DVD and watch it on a TV.

Or if you intend to have internet only viewing then you need to de-interlace the footage at soem time during your edit stage.

Hi Alan, every thing was working fine until yesterday when i noticed the picture looked a bit , well fuzzy so i played it straight to the tv and there is a definite feathered/ blurred edge to the subject (well birds actually that i was filming) could the heads need cleaning? The picture also liked a bit lined
