Default Please help me (Canopus ADVC100)

Hello...
I have this problem: for a long time I used Canopus ADVC100 (via firewire) to capture satellite and video films with no problem.
In the last times the box hangs and freeze after 1h (or more) of captured video...
And the problem is present on other friend's computers...
Is there anyone who can help me???
Thanks in advance!

What format do you use for capture?

Thanks for reply!
I always used (with Scenalyzer live) Type 2-DV avi files without no size or duration problems... until now!

Hm... did you try using a compressed MPEG format?

No, but until now there was no problem...
What type of MPEG compressed format? The canopus captures only in DV...
Do you mean with some MPEG capture software?

What is the spec of your computer setup? How much free space have you left on your hard disk and when was the last time you defragmented it? Also, are you running any other software on your computer while capturing such as screensavers, virus checkers, or any background utilities. You may need to disable those while capturing.

I can tell exactly the spec of my computer setup (athlon 2.4, 512 mb RAM, ecc), but I don't think that the problem is here because I haven't changed anything in last year and until now it was all ok.
Remember then that I tried the Canopus with other computers and the problem is still there...
Is it possible to upgrade the firmware or driver for the ADVC-100?

Not having used an ADVC-100 before, I was just wondering does it have any inbuilt codecs of it's own and maybe the same one on your computer was deleted? It's difficult to keep track of every file on your system. Try searching Google or one of the other search engines to see if it has either a Firmware or driver update available by all means.
