Thread: will my camcorder connect to my computer

ok well i have a SONY HandycamVision CCD-TRV93....and i would like to know if there is a way that i can connect the camcorder to my computer so i can edit some video for a school project..... all i see to connect video is a s video socket..the red white yellow plugs and this RFU DC out thing(have no ideo what this is)...also i see this red scocket on it(about hte size of a headphone jack, but a little smaller)

Can I assume that the SONY HandycamVision CCD-TRV93 is not a digital camcorder? Correct me if I'm wrong but the sockets you mention are from an analogue camcorder and therefore will need a capture card either totally internal or internal with an external breakout box. This will allow you to run a cable from the camcorder to the computer and therefore capture analogue video which will then be coverted into digital, no mean feat for a standard computer. If you only have S-Video then stick with it as it is the highest picture quality on that particular model.
