i have a dvc-80 to capture video from my analog camera but when trying to cature the footage from camera to pc it will only works for about a second then freeze i have tried many different settings and programs but the problem still accures
please help

Sadly, the DVC 80 was/is a product fraught with problems. I know of instances where some people have never been able to get it to work. When it does work you realise that it captures only in AVI and that the resulting resolution is 360 x 240?
So going on to try and help you. I wonder if this is a compatibility issue with your usb chipset. Pinnacle products have always had problems with certain USB chipsets. Have you tried looking at their web site to see what they say in this area?
