There are no firewire option for this Vcam, have to upload to my wife's PC using Panasonic Video software before I can transfer AVI files to my Mac for editing. Using Final Cut Express 1, have iMovie ver 6, but Vcam not recognised by both. Planning to upgrade to FCE 3.5 soon.
Please advise

This camera has Firewire. It may be hidden under a small plastic cap, but it deffo has firewire it will be a small 4 pin connection not the larger 6 pin.

These new batch of vcam from Panasonic uses USB2 for tranfers. Tried looking for a USB2 out to Firewire In combo wires, no luck. Any other suggestions?

Are you sure it's a NVGS250, as I'm 100% certain it has 4 pin firewire. Open up and look under every flap that you can find on the body of the camera to locate it, can I assume it came with an instruction manual? USB2 should only be used for transferring still images and using the camera as a webcam, and besides the quality will be terrible and USB2 doesn't carry sound the same way as Firewire does.

Is it a Mini DV camcorder or is it a DVD camcorder you have, Panasonic have brought out a batch of 3CCD DVD camcorders, you wouldn't be confusing the Mini DV cam NVGS250 with the DVD cam VDRD250B?

I know the NVGS150 hs a firewire input on the side - you need to open the screen to access it.
Hope this helps!
