Default Recording sound from a video

I have an mpg on my computer and I want to use some of the sound in a video I am making.

Does anyone know how to record the sound only??? :

use tmpgenc's mpeg tools to demux the audio.

To rip the audio from a video I use Cool Edit Pro. It is now owned by Adobe. There is a feature on the software that allows you to import audio from a movie. Another thing that you can do use is Adobe Premier and unlock the video from the audio and move the audio around.
