I have Pinnacle Studio 9. Everytime I Capture as MPEG-2 / Make a Disc,
I get the infamous windows error:
"...has encountered a problem and must close"

I know it has something to do with the encoding process, because everytime I'm in the process, it crashes my program out.
(I'm not getting a Pinnacle error)

Does anyone have any similar problems or solutions to encoding errors.

Well, to anybody who had the same problem as I (above) but no solutions, this is what I did:

I transfered all my data (external hard drive) over to my dad's computer, and reloaded Pinnacle. It worked BEAUTIFULLY there!

So I ended up getting a new computer:
2.8 GZ
Pentium 4
TWO 160GB hard drives (= 320 + my 120GB external = 440 GB!!)
Brand new GE-FORCE FX5700 Video Card.

Least to say, my problems are over and I won't look back.

what was the spec of your old PC, where it didn't work? I just wondered if it was a FAT32 disk and the s/w was just not picking up on the file size issue in a nice way and bombing out withthe nasty error you saw.
