| | Burned DVD+R picture blurred.
On my burned DVD+R's (from Hi-8 tape source), I find the picture is blurry on camera pans or fast motion, even though it is crisp on the original tape. Any solutions?

Are you using a camcorder plugged into a computer or did you plug the camcorder into a DVD Recorder? If it's a camcorder into a computer setup, then what is the spec of your computer, did you use an S-video connection? and what software did you use to do the capture?

I burned the disc with my HP Pavillion Media Center (2004 model), and used a firewire connector. The software was the factory installed Intervideo WinDVD, and the camcorder was a backwards compatible Digital 8.

This sounds like a de-interlacing problem. Are your viewing the video on a television set or your PC screen when they appear blurry? If both, then your WinDVD is de-interlacing the video by averaging the two fields for each frame. Research WinDVD to see how to change or switch off the de-interlace, (Hi-8 is always interlaced video, which looks best on television sets, but horrible on PC screens.)

Same answer.. get WinDVD to not de-interlace the video. I don't have WinDVD, so you'll have to read their support on their website for how to do that.

how do you turn off de-interlacing with pinnacle? I have studio 9.43. I am using a hi8 camcorder to laptop using regular RCA cables. It's fine with the little preview screen but when I do full screen it gets blurry, also after watching it on a burned dvd on my tv. Thanks for your help.

Also, will using an S-Video cable give me better quality than the RCA A/V cable?
