Default Poor quality video

Hi - I have edited some video footage from my Panasonic NV GS 180 camera and burned it to DVD. When I watch the DVD the footage is not very smooth and appears to be quite jagged. Please can anyoner suggest why this might be? I edit using PP1.5 and burned using Ulead DVD Workshop 2.

Thanks

Are the setting correct? When you watch it in your computer is it clear?

Neuron, it hasn't got anything to do with your DVD burner, so don't be going out looking to buy a new one. Robinf, what is the spec of your computer and are you using a Firewire cable to connect your camcorder to your computer? If you are using USB, then stop using it and only use Firewire.

To me it sounds like they haven't interlaced the footage. If using vegas the simplest method to interlace is on the first clip on your time line right click select "select events to end" right click again and select "switches, reduce interlace flicker" that should smooth thing out without going into "interlacing" in deapth.

EDIT, Ok I just read your post again and I don't know how to interlace in that program, you can of course download Virtual dub (free) and interlace the raw footage there.
